WREG Anchorwoman Marybeth Conley sat down with Nourishe co-founders Della Adams and Nicole Heckman to discuss the merits of going grain-free as part of her daily radio show on Memphis AM990. As part of her Top Ten Tuesdays, the trio covered off on the problems with modern grains and the numerous health benefits listeners might expect from eliminating grains from their diet. Della and Nicole shared their personal journeys of weight loss and improved physical fitness. Della, in particular, has seen remarkable improvement in her diabetes from adopting a grain-free and Paleo lifestyle along with regular Crossfit workouts. Nicole had long suffered from joint pain and found that is miraculously disappeared with her change in diet. She is now a competitor in Strongwoman, a sport that would previously have been off limits with constantly aching knees.
These personal transformations were the foundation for creating the business they started with their husbands, called Nourishe. These gluten, grain, dairy and soy free products are the kind of convenience item Della and Nicole were looking for when they started their grain-free journeys. Since great tasting grain-free baking mixes without preservatives or chemicals were nowhere to be foundt, they decided to make their own. Nourishe was launched in April 2013 and the co-founders are busy expanding their product line and retail locations.
Video from the interview will be available and posted here soon.
